Students may wear jeans, slacks, dresses, blouses, shirts or any other types of clothing appropriate to the sex of the individual which does not violate the intent of the dress code.  All clothing must be worn properly (example: clothing must be worn right side out and pants must be pulled up to the waist.) Jackets are not to be worn in the classroom.  The important rule of school dress is good taste.  We want students to be comfortable, but neat.  Students are expected to dress modestly and appropriately at all times.

• Dresses, culottes and skirts shorter than two inches above the knee.
• Low-cut neckline, spaghetti straps, beach dresses, tank tops, excessively form-fitting clothing, or outfits with bare midriffs (skin must not show around the midriff when the student is standing, sitting, bending over, or raising their arms above their heads).
• Shorts shorter than two inches above the knee or tight shorts (Spandex, biking, etc.).
• Items with suggestive lettering, pictures, symbols, names of rock groups or abusive language on them.
• Dirty and/or ragged sneakers. Untied shoe laces.
• Pants or shirts with patches or holes.  Pant cuffs that are frayed or slit. (Normal knee patches for lower grade children do not fall into this category).
• Ponytails, spiked, faddish hair coloring, hair hanging in eyes or over the collar or razor shaved portions for boys.
• Earrings for boys or wallet chains for girls or boys.
• Oversized/baggy look.  
• Tattoos or piercing's (exception: earrings for girls).
• Any article of clothing considered inappropriate by the administration 

Clarification regarding baggy pants and shorts for boys and girls:

Pants or shorts may not be worn below the waist, commonly known as "sagging". Pants must fit at the waist, the crotch must be at an appropriate level. These pants may not have been altered in a manner such as adjusting size 54's to fit size 26 by sewing in tucks in the waist. This means that oversized/baggy pants are not acceptable.
